When I was growing up my grandpa used to make us stop and take a picture on the porch every time we came for a visit. Over the years my family and I have adopted this tradition and continue to take “Porch Shots” when we get together. So when I heard that photographers all over the country were participating in what they called “The Front Porch Project”, I was very interested. There were many different versions of this project, but essentially it was about documenting families’ quarantine experience. Some were charging a large fee, some small, some even offered them for free. The idea I liked best came from St. Louis photographer Ann Beverley Prideaux who offered five minute front porch portrait sessions in exchange for a contribution to charity. That was a project I could get behind. I started on my own street and slowly worked my way around the neighborhood. I am so grateful and overwhelmed by the response of my kind and generous neighbors and friends. We raised hundreds of dollars for several wonderful charities and each of them are listed below. Please consider contributing to one of these very worthy causes.
