Peach Blossoms at The Farm at Agritopia {Pet Portrait Session}

I am not a pet person.  Not, yet, at least.  Maybe someday I will graduate to pet person, but for now I will just admire people who can show animals all the love.  I’l be a pet person person.  One of my favorite pet people is my hair stylist and friend Marilo.  I’ve photographed Marilo and her adorable pack of bulldogs before, but our session in the peach orchard at the Farm at Agritopia was extra special.  The peach orchard is usually off limits to photographers, but I snagged one of a limited number of openings during peach blossom season.  Marilo was so excited to dress Lola, Norman, and Pierre up in their fancy accessories for a beautiful springtime session.

This portrait session is extra special for another reason.  A week after these pictures were taken, sweet Lola fell ill and Marilo had to say goodbye to her longtime companion.  No one in the world could have loved Lola more.  It breaks my heart just thinking about how hard it must have been for them to part.  I’m so grateful to Marilo for showing me what it means to be a pet person.

We have no idea what tomorrow will bring.  Get in the pictures while you can.  Make a record of your time with those you love most.  That record will be a treasure someday.
