Gilbert Arizona LDS Temple Mission Portraits

One of the places I’ve missed the most during this pandemic has been the temple.  I used to work in the Gilbert Arizona LDS Temple every week and it was always nice to have some peaceful time alone with my thoughts.  (I still have quite a bit of time alone with my thoughts, but it’s rarely peaceful.  Way too much time to think around here.)   I look forward to when the temple is open again, but in the meantime I’m grateful for the opportunities I have had to do a few portrait sessions on the temple grounds.  Many youth from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here in Gilbert continue to serve as missionaries throughout the world.  It’s inspiring to see their commitment and excitement as they prepare for 18 months-2 years of service.

This lovely young woman will be serving in both Belgium and the Netherlands.  Double the country flags, double the fun!

I am so excited for this young man who is serving a mission in Chile.  It’s the home of his ancestors and I think it’s incredible that he has this opportunity to learn about his roots while he serves.

You are probably thinking these people are not young.  You are right.  They are very old.  These are my adorable parents.  Senior couples can serve missions, too!

This sister missionary is currently serving in the state of Washington.  I’ve never been to Washington, but I bet she misses the Arizona sun.

I’m so grateful for the example of these young and (very) old people and for the chance to spend just a few moments on the peaceful temple grounds.  I look forward to hearing about their adventures and to entering the temple again soon.  For more LDS mission portrait ideas, VISIT MY PINTEREST BOARD.
