My favorite part of the family portrait planning process is finding the perfect location for my clients. Arizona has so many gorgeous areas to choose from and I get excited about all the possibilities. Maybe it’s because I spent most of my life surrounded by trees in North Carolina, but I absolutely love the wide open spaces of the desert. However, most of my clients request “Anything but the desert.” That’s why I was SO EXCITED when one of my favorite families wanted their family portraits take in in one of my favorite places! I had to fight the urge to do cartwheels when we arrived at the location. (Mostly because I’m old and can’t do cartwheels and also because there were jumping cacti everywhere.) Even though I’m still pulling cactus needles out of my shoes, I could not be happier with how this session turned out. This family has had a pretty crazy couple of years and it made my heart sing to see them all standing together.
