Thanksgiving is a time when a lot of families decide to get their family portraits taken. Usually the whole family is together and Christmas is right around the corner. It’s perfect! Unless you have failed to secure a photographer. I do not exaggerate when I tell you that I turned away three families per day the week of Thanksgiving because I was already booked solid. If you know you and your family are going to be getting together for Thanksgiving, I highly recommend booking your photographer weeks in advance.
I had the pleasure of photographing my amazing friend Dayna’s extended family over Thanksgiving weekend. Dayna is hilarious and beautiful and now I see where she gets it. Her family is amazing! When we finished our session, Grandpa yelled, “Three a-oo-ga’s for Melissa!” Then the entire group yelled, “Ah-OOO-ga! Ah-OOO-ga! Ah-OOOOOO-ga!” That was a first for me, but now I demand it of all my clients at the end of every portrait session. I love how the morning light at Nichols Park added to this family’s natural beauty. So dreamy!
