Frequently Asked Questions

When do you usually do photo shoots?

I try to shoot early in the morning or in the late afternoon, though exceptions can be made.  Send me a message and I’ll do my best to work with your family’s schedule.

Where do you shoot?

Within 30 minutes of Gilbert, AZ.  I have several locations around town that I like to use, so just let me know what sort of background you would like (nature, city streets, industrial, desert, etc.).  I also do in-home photo shoots.  Click HERE for a look at some of my favorite locations around Gilbert.

How much do you charge?

I have a wide range of portrait package prices to suit your individual needs.  (You can view them by clicking HERE.) Don’t see one that works for you?  No problem!  Custom portrait packages are available.  Fill out the contact form above and I’ll help create the perfect portrait package for you!

What should I wear?

For families, I think it’s best that everyone wear coordinating colors without matching exactly.  Avoid logos and go easy on the prints.  All black clothing is also one to avoid, because it tends to drain the color from faces.  Wear something that brings out your best features and makes you feel confident.  I’m always happy to consult my clients on wardrobe choices.  For my step by step guide to finding the perfect family portrait wardrobe, read my blog post What to Wear For Family Portraits (4 Simple Steps).  For additional inspiration, visit my Pinterest board What to Wear for Family Portraits .

What should I bring to a session?

You are welcome to bring props, chairs, blankets, toys or whatever else you want to your session.  With your permission, I will bring treats for the little ones.  Bribes are magical.

Do you edit all images from a session?

I will go through all of the images from our session and eliminate any that are unusable (out of focus, someone sneezing, someone picking their nose, etc).  From there I will narrow it down further to include only the best shots.  Depending on the length of your session, I will edit somewhere between 30-80 images.

How do I select which images I want to keep?

Once your edited images are ready, we’ll schedule a time for your in-person ordering session at my home office.  This will take place about a week after your photo session.  There you will choose your favorites and we can decide if further editing (such as head-swapping) is necessary.  (Some extensive editing may include a fee of $25.)  You will also choose which images you would like for your print or album, depending on which portrait package you chose.

What if I want additional images?

You are welcome to add as many images to your portrait package as you like at a cost of $15 per image.

When and how will I receive my photos?

It takes 2-3 weeks after an ordering session for final edits to be completed and prints and albums to be mailed.  An online gallery will be made available to you once final edits are complete.  If you would rather have a thumb drive, you will also receive your digital images on a thumb drive.

What if I lose my thumb drive?

All of your images will be saved for up to two years.  I will replace your thumb drive at no extra cost.

How and when should I pay you?

Payment is due at the time of your ordering session.  I accept cash, check, Paypal or Venmo.
